This is the scene where the bear breaks into Lyddie's cabin and she orders her family up to the loft. This is person vs. nature because it is Lyddie against the bear which is an element of nature.
This scene is occurring outside the tavern where mistress Cutler first sees Lyddie. Mistress Cutler does not like the way Lyddie looks and is hesitant to have her work at the tavern.
Diana is protesting against the sewing company with a group of girls, fighting for better wages and fewer hours.
