  • The main characters are Marcellus, Martio, Barnardo, and Francisco and the Ghost. The setting is outside of the palace. The major event in scene 1 is that they saw a ghost and the ghost resembles to Hamlet’s dad (ex King of Denmark). Also, fortinbras is trying to to take back land.
  • Act 1, Scene 4 
  • The main characters are Marcellous, Martio, Barnardo, the King, the Queen, Cornelius, Laertes, Polonius, and Hamlet. The setting is states room at Elsinore Castle. The major event is that Hamlet is disgusted at Claudius and his mother’s wedding. And Hamlet agrees to keep watch of the ghost, and Claudius sends ceasefire to young Fortinbras/Norway.  In conclusion, Claudius (Hamlet’s uncle) is going to marry his mother and he feels betrayed.
  • Act 1, Scene 5
  • The main characters are Ophelia, Laertes, and Polonius. The setting is outside of the castle. Laertes is leaving to France. Also, Ophelia and Hamlet have a crush on each other in which they have been spending a lot of alone time. Polonius give Laertes a small and very inspirational and supportive lecture. Meanwhile, Polonius gives Ophelia a very harsh and mean hard talk about her relationship with Hamlet.
  • The main characters are Hamlet, Horatio, and Marcellus. The setting is Elinsore. The major event is that Hamlet sees the ghost and wants to follow it. Marcellus and Horatio try to stop Hamlet from following the ghost because they don’t trust the ghost. Hamlet then races off following the ghost, and his friends then follow him.
  • The main characters are Hamlet, the Ghost , Horatio, and Marcellus. The setting is in the woods outside of Elsinore. The major event is that the ghost tells Hamlet that his death was not an accident, that he was murdered by his own brother. Then the ghost tells Hamlet to seek revenge on his brother but not his mother. To leave her own guilt eat at her away and to let Heaven deal with her. Then, Hamlet made Marcellus and Horatio swear not to tell anyone what they seen and what had happened.
