  • John Quincy Adams He was the secretary of state before being president and he possibly got his position from a corrupt bargain with Henry clay, who later got the position of secretary of state from him, when the election was a tie between Jackson, Adams, and Crawford so the house of representative had to decide. Crawford had a stroke so he was eliminated. 
  • Henry Clay  He was not in the top three candidates so he was eliminated. Then he possibly got a corrupt bargain which lead him to pick Adams as president and then adams would give him the position of secretary of state. When the election was a tie between Jackson, Adams, and Crawford so the house of representative had to decide. Crawford had a stroke so he was eliminated. 
  • Andrew Jackson  He was tough and was known as old hickory. He helped suffrage for all white males. He lost the election was a tie between Jackson, Adams, and Crawford so the house of representative had to decide. Crawford had a stroke so he was eliminated. Then Adams was chosen as president by Clay and then Adams chose Clay to be secretary of state so it was thought that there was a corrupt bargain. Jackson was later elected as president and he helped the common man.
