One day, the colonists wanted to buy sugar to use for their foods. But when they did buy it they were forced to pay extra for the goods.
This happened because of the new act that was set in place, the Sugar Act. The Sugar Act forced the colonists to pay extra for the sugar.
This act infuriated the colonists, wanting the act to be repealed. The act was repealed along with the rest of the annoying acts.
Why do I have to pay extra for sugar?
The people of Boston were fed up with all the new laws and the way the British were treating them. They began to throw objects at them, snowballs and clubs.
No ones knows how it happened, but out of no where one of the British soldiers fired a shot. A colonists fell.
This lead to five colonists being shot dead, three wounded. The incident on March 5, 1770 was referred to as the Boston Massacre.
