Reporter 1(woman): Good afternoon Mr.President, I just want to ask a few questions about what's going on in the Middle east. Reporter 2(man): Good afternoon, lets start with the military in Iraq. How long will the military be there for?
Trump: Well, we are keeping the military in Iraq as long as needed to ensure the Islamic state dose not regain strength
Reporter 1(woman): How many U.S. troops are in Iraq right now and will you send more troops? General: Right now there is approximately 750 troops in Iraq and it depends on what kind of situation that is going on in Iraq to bring more troops.
Reporter 2(man): Moving on, currently in Afghanistan, you are withdrawing a few thousand troops, can you elaborate on that? Trump: Well, our progress has been slow because a smaller, slower withdrawal is best for now, but I won't hesitate to do a full pullout.
Reporter 1(woman): Wouldn't and immediate withdrawal cause disaster because Afghanistan is the center of gravity in the war on terror? General: Yes it would, but we are not worried about that.
Reporter 2(man): Whats happening now in the Iran-U.S. standoff following the withdrawal of the U.S. from the JCPOA last may? Trump: We re-imposed sanctions on Iran in two rounds: the first one started in August and the second started in November hitting Iran's oil and financial sectors.
