Establishing their Relationship
You crazy fool! You keep me in hot water all the time.
Arriving at the Farm
Well, he’s a pretty nice fella. Gets pretty mad sometimes, but he's pretty nice.
Two migrant workers, George, a small man with a fierce atitude, and Lennie, a large man with a mild mental disability are travelling through California to a nearby farm where they are set to work. They decide to rest at a clearing for the night, and Lennie begins to drink from the water, much to George's distate.
After telling Lennie that he can't carry around a dead mouse, killed by his immense amount of strength that he is unable to control, George begins to complain about how his life would be easier without him. But after realising how upset he has made Lennie, he decides to tell him about their dream of living on a farm with rabbits and chickens.
When Lennie and George arrive at the farm they meet an old swamper named Candy who shows them around the bunk house. Despite his old age and losing his right arm in an accident on the farm, he still continues to work. As they inspect the conditions of the bunk house, Candy reassures them that the boss is a nice man.
