The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street Theme: Fear gets the best of people.
In " The Monsters Are Due" by Rod Serling. One theme is that fear is our greatest enemy. When Charlie shot a figure that was walking who was in fact Pete Van Horn. Charlie then goes on to say that he was scared and just wanted to make sure everyone was safe. People then suspect that Charlie is the alien and broke his lamp on his porch. Then Charlie starts to say that it was Tommy. Then everyone has there own suspicions and all heck breaks loose. WE later find out that it was aliens that were controlling the town and it ends with peoples worse enemies are themselves.
Evidence 1: In this scene Less Goodmans car out of no where started up again.
Evidence 2: In this scene Charlie shoots a figure that was walking that happened to be Pete Van Horn that was just walking to the next neiborhood to see if the power is off.
Evidence 3: In this scene people start assuming who the alien is and start breaking peoples windows
