Martin Luther was born in small town Eisleben. His parents were middle class peasant laborers. His parents worked hard to make sure that their son had the proper education that he needed. By the age of 21 Luther had a masters of art degree.
Martin was walking in a thunderstorm when he was struck by lightning. Martin Luther's life was about to change forever. He vowed to God that if he made it through he would live the rest of his life as a monk.
Luther learned of catholic church unbiblical practice of selling indulgences. The pope stated that he sold Religious merits in return for building funds. Those who purchased the indulgences were promised a reduced punishment for their sins, for sins of parted love ones and sometimes forgiveness for sins. Luther Publicly objected to this t publicly objected to his dishonest practice and abuse of church power.
October 31, 1517 Luther nailed 95 thesis to the Catholic church door challenging all the leaders on the Practice of selling Indulgences and outlining the biblical doctrine of justification by grace alone.
Luther translated the New Testament into the German language. Luther started giving bibles to other germans.
Luther died in his home with his sons and his cose friends by his side. His body was Wittenburg for his funeral and burial.
