They interview Charlie and see if they want to use him. For a science experiment that they have done on a mouse already. He's really excited because he wants to be really smart, he wants to be a genius.

Algernon was dead. Algernon wasn't eating and he ended up dying. He had the same operation as Charlie did. So that meant whatever happens to Algernon it might happen to Charlie.
Later after Algernon died Charlie started realizing a lot more. Started to get feelings he never really felt, like love. He would just lay in bed not eat much, he started to get the side affects of Algernon.
Charlie didnt want nobody else feeling bad for him. He told Alice that he was going away so she didnt have to take care of him. So hes leaving somewhere else where people will take care of him. He also told Alice to make sure Algernon grave always have flowers.
