  • Ecological Succession Project
  • Setting/Intro
  • Primary Succession
  • By: McKenna Benson
  • Disaster
  • There was a colony of bees flying around looking for a home, when they saw a nice sturdy tree in the forest below them. They flew down and they thought the tree would be a great home.
  • Secondary Succession
  • So, they made themselves a nest and lived there for a while. They were happy, they didn't have problems, and they had everything they needed. A home, flowers nearby, and they weren't bothered by other wildlife.
  • Until this one day, out of nowhere a bear comes up and claws the nest down. He was looking for food, saw the nest, and ate their honey. Next thing they know is their nest is in pieces on the floor.
  • They were really mad, but they had to keep their anger in because stinging someone is fatal for a bee, anyways he probably wouldn't even feel it. They decided to make a new nest because they really liked the tree, they just have to watch out for another bear.
  • As soon as the new nest was rebuilt more bees saw it and wanted to be apart of the colony, so they flew down and decided to build more hives. Eventually, the tree was filled with hives and the bees were never bothered again.
