  • During the attack, Francis Scott key, a 38 year old who observed everything On september 13, 1814 hoping America could win this attack.
  • The conflict lasted a whole day and Francis Scott key fell asleepby Fort M'Henry which held the 30 by 42 feet long flag, which was in great danger.
  • When Francis woke up the next day, to his surprise, the Flag in Fort M'Henry, was still standing! a symbol, showing That the British surrendered and Baltimore won! Francis decided to write a poem of his experiene waking up to the big beautiful flag, untouched.
  • "Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early lightWhat so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?"
