  • Buck survived because he was able to adapt and he was strong. Spitz adapted too but he wasn´t strong enough  because Buck won the fight. This is and example of how Buck and Spitz adapted.
  • Curly could not adapt so he was killed. This is an example of survival of the fittest. Since Curly was to nice and wasn´t tough enough he didn´t survive. On page 14-15 it says, "There was no warning, only a leap in like a flash, a metallic clip of teeth, a leap out equally swift, and Curly's face was ripped open from eye to jaw." This is when Curly got attacked by a wild dog and died.
  • Buck adapted to the law of fang and by learning who is master. Buck learned who is master when the man in the red sweater beat him.  This helped him adapt by learning the law of fang.
  • BUCK
  • Mercedes didn't know how to adapt because she brought so much stuff that the sled wouldn't move and they had to throw it all out. Mercedes also started crying when they threw out all the food and this is an example of survival of the fittest because she wasn't being tough. On page 55 paragraph 13 Mercedes said, "oh, Hal, you mustn't throw out all the food!" as she continued to cry.
  • Buck showed the survival of the fittest when he was fighting with the Indians because he kept fighting even though they where trying to shoot him with the arrows. Buck killed the Indians because they hurt the people he loved.
  • Buck was the best example of survival of the fittest because he survived through being abducted, losing his friends, being in the cold, and having to fight for everything. In the end Buck got everything he wanted and was happy with his new life.
