- On the way back from a gathering at the Plaza, Tom stops by Wilson's garage to check out what had happened. Tom finds Myrtle dead. She was ran over by a yellow Rolls Royce, the same car that Gatsby owns. Tom knows this is Gatsby's car and tells Wilson that he wasn't driving it. Tom believes that Gatsby ran over Myrtle, but, in reality, Daisy was behind the wheel.
- George Wilson goes to see Tom to find out who killed Myrtle. Tom points him in Gatsby's direction and Wilson, who is not in a sound mind, takes off. He shoots Gatsby twice, while he is laying on a mattress in his pool, Then, Wilson shoots himself in the garden.
- NIck calls everybody that Gatsby knew, including the insane amount of people who would come to his parties and no one would come to his funeral. NIck, Henry Gatz, and Owl Eyes were the only people who attended.
