- Jay's love for Vanessa becomes more of an obsession. He wanted the family he never had and he was determined to get it. Behind her back the newly found father-son duo hatched a plan to create the family they wanted.

- Vanessa confides in Jay about her husband's affair. Consumed by emotions they sleep together. But this was just the beginning of their own affair. It goes on for months.

- After telling Vanessa he was going on a work trip, Joshua is found dead in a hotel room. Police say his lover murdered him because he promised to marry her but never planned to but she was no where to be found. Vanessa plans her husbands funeral and Nick supports her as much as he can.
