  • 1750
  • Abigail was taught the basics of learning but still had an advantage in reading and writing. She was taught by her mother. She had a very smart father a well respected mother unlike most. This contributed to the Revolutionary war because she continued to write letters during the war.
  • 1764
  • Abigail and John Adams got married October 25, 1764 and when they were away from each other they would write letters to one another.
  • 1778
  • When John left for France, Abigail kept writing letters to him and taking care of the household.  In the letters she would talk about her political thoughts and her her feelings on things but her letters were never all that serious.
  • 1776
  • She wrote a letter to John saying to remember the ladies.  She said this because she wanted him to be more favorable of them. She also didn't want the husbands to have such unlimited power.During this John was part of the 5 members that wrote the Declaration of Independence.
