Queen Elizabeth dies with no heir, which leads James I becomes king. He believes in the Divine Right of Kings. This creates a conflict with parliament for reasons of wealth, religion and power. After James I dies his son Charles I rules and continues Divine Right of Kings, with the same issues with parliament.
QUIET PEASANTS!!!
Oh no!! Not again!
Since Charles I had the same Divine Right of Kings idea, Parliament put together a petition of power, (which is to limit his power) but Charles ignores it anyways. So the Civil War begins!!! Its the Parliament (Roundheads), against the King (cavaliers).
Welcome!
Parliament wins. Oliver Cromwell is the new leader for Parliament Army. Parliament is purged of King supporters and Charles is beheaded and monarchy has been abolished. Cromwell has died and the Army restores the monarchy. Which leads to Charles II as leader and the start of the Revolution.
Whats different about Charles II is that he does not believe in Divine Right of Kings. Which calms the nerves of parliament. James II however is openly Catholic and has a son, which worries Parliament.
In the events that has Parliament nervous, they invite William of Orange, and his wife Mary, to invade and takeover England. How lucky they are that James lacks the support, from the soldiers fleeing his side. which ended the Revolution with little bloodshed.
After the Revolution, William and Mary accept the offer of the throne of England, and create the Bill of Rights with Parliament. Divine Right of Kings was abolished, and had set up a constitutional Monarchy.
