  • The three estates of France were on very different levels of the social structure. King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were in the 1st estate as absolute rulers, King Louis ruled with what he thought was the divine right  Nobles were in the 2nd estate. While merchants were in the 3rd estate.  
  • The price of bread was inflating to a point the 3rd estate couldn't afford it because they had 100% of the tax burden which was rising due to the dept and the lavish lifestyles of the above estates.
  • Bread for sale 
  • I'm so hungry but bread costs a fortune.
  • GO TO TOWN TELL ALL NOBLES ITS TIME TO PARTY AT THE PALACE!
  • Yes, your majesties 
  • Lavish lifestyle paid for already.
  • Nobles there is a party at the palace tonight all are welcomed. Peasants you are to pay your taxes to me before the clock strikes 12 as said by the king and queen.
  • We can't afford these taxes any longer
  • The american revolution was a big cause of the French's economic problems but also one of the major social causes for revolt.
  • We must revolt it worked for the Americans it will work for us!!!! 
  • Agreed.
  • And thus starts the french revolution. We need a change in government!
