  • One cause of the Russian Revolution was Russo - the Japanese war. This was a war fought through 1904-1905 and it started because both Japan and Russia wanted control over parts of Korea. There were over 200,000 caualties throughout the war and many people call it WW0. But at the end of the war Japan won.
  • Another cause of the Russian Revolution was food shortages. Food shortages started because of declining agricultural production and people became hangry. The governemnt did try to fix this by enabling the Special Counsel on the Food Supply. However, this failed and people started to riot and protest. Sometimes the police and army had to get involved by firing upon them to settle them down.
  • Another cause of the Russian Revolution was Bloody Sunday. On January 22, 1905 a group of unarmed workers lead by a priest marched to the czar’s Winter Palace in St. Petersburg to make their demands. But when they did they were fired on by the guards and a lot of poeple died.
