Now, if diffusion of responsibility was applied properly to the experiment, then it would look like this. The drunk man falls and receives no help. Why? Because people think about his situation of being drunk and don't end up feeling bad for him or helping him what-so-ever. This is a high risk, low reward.

When the ill man falls down, he would most likely receive more help than the drunk man because of his situation. He didnt choose to be ill, so people help him out. The person helping him also has a good representation upon themselves because of how people praise them for helping. This is a low risk, high reward.
