This is Charles Pillsbury and he is a flour industrialist and co-founder of the Pillsbury Company. He came from Warner, New Hampshire. Pillsbury started working in the flour industry in 1869 and died in Minnesota on September 17th 1899.
flour milling was started in Fort Snelling in 1823, and by 1876 there were 18 flour mills in Minnesota.
first in flour milling you have to ground the grain in a lot of roller mills doing this step make it much easier to use in foods.
the second step is to wash the ground grain. You need to wash it in order to make it edible. You need to make it so that there is no bran or anything like that in it. That is what makes it edible.
the last step to flour milling is to package the flour. What you have to do is package the flour according to the quality, either good or bad, and then you ship the flour where ever it has to go and you are done.
people can use flour for many things like baked goods, some times meat, or something that they made up. With out flour there would be nothing like it.
