Storyboard Text

  • In the late 1800s, Mrs. Mallard, who was affected with heart trouble, lost her husand.
  • I'm so sorry... He's gone
  • But although it felt monstrous, she could not help feeling... free
  • Free! Body and Soul free!
  • For finally, there would be no one to live for... she would live for herself.
  • Her sister pleaded with her to open the door
  • I'm not making myself sick!
  • Louise, open the door! You will make yourself ill!
  • She began to pray that her life would be long...
  • My own life... My own person...
  • Knowing that just the day before, she had shuddered at the thought of a long life
  • She opened the door, and descended the stairs like a goddess of victory
  • But her freedom could only last so long...
  • Mr. Mallard had not been near the accident and was very much alive
  • LOUISE WHAT HAPPENED!
  • The doctors said she died of heart disease...  of the joy that kills...
