Jimmy and Thomas were the best of friends, and even enrolled into the military together. Unfortunately , Jimmy had to witness the cruel killing that comes with war, and Thomas was one that fell victim to that killing.
Not a day passes where Jimmy doesn't think about how life would have been, if Thomas had not died in war. The thought of his best friend dying, and not being able to ever see him again was very traumatic.
This thought was so overwhelmingly unbearable, Jimmy could not stand the pain he felt. In attempt to take his life, his wife walks in shortly after he collapses.
"I'm sorry", Jimmy says. "I just can't stand the regret of not saving Thomas, or even influencing him into joining the military, but knowing I still have people in my life that are worth living for is all I need.".
"I brought you to the hospital as soon as I could", Jimmy's wife says. "I understand you've seen many horrible things, and I want to let you know that I'll always be here to help you through it".
Jimmy was visited by many people he realized he cared about so much, and learned they cared about him too.
There were hardships and traumatic experiences Jimmy couldn't overcome by himself, but he knew that with the comfort and care of his friends he could live, not for himself but for others.
