  • The year was 1692, Columbus tried to get to a shorter route to Asia, but found North America
  • In 1519 the Spanish explorer from Jamaica and the first person to map the Texas coast
  • In 1519 the Aztecs viewed Cortes as a god because, of his firearms, horses, and metal armor. He explored north and south America and Spain became very rich because of gold, and silver.
  • In 1526 de Vaca started to adventure into North America. He shipwrecked in 1528 in Galveston Island and was given shelter by the Karenkawas, in 1536 he arrived to Mexico City to tell stories of the Gold-Cibola.
  • In 1540 in Coranado brought 1000 men to America, and discovered: the Grand Canyon. He was a failure to Spain, because he didn't find gold, or sliver.
  • In 1648 La Salle arrived in Matagorda bay. In 1687 45 of his men survived. La Salle was killed by his own men. only 7 of his men survived and the Spanish became interested in Texas to build missions.
