  • I need to manage Boston. They are completely out of control... I've got it!
  • Out of almost all the colonies, Boston was by far the most reckless and lawless. The king set out to fix this by supplying Boston with four regiments of troops to stand watch.
  • FIRE!!
  • The colonists disliked this, and they did everything they could to let the soldiers know. They called them "lobsterbacks", constantly insulted them, and even taught dogs to nip at them. Trouble was brewing in Boston.
  • Helpless Colonists Shot Down by British Soldiers
  • This was purposeful. This was a massacre.
  • In 1770, a small riot broke out. Colonists began throwing rocks and balls of ice at the troops. After countless attempts at telling the rioters to go home, they didn't listen.
  • T'was purely self defense!
  • Amongst the chaos, one man pushed a soldier to the ground. Panicked, the rest of the soldiers open-fired. Five men ended up dying that day.
  • Anti-British propaganda was being spread all around. This event further convinced patriots that the British soldiers were unjust, and it help further convince loyalists that more reform was needed.
  • John Adams, a patriot, felt that it was unfair that the soldiers were being scrutinized so cruelly. He said that the soldiers deserve a fair trial because the colonists were provoking them to begin with. 6 of the soldiers were found not guilty.
