Americans Begin a Revolt
Mexican government gives Moses Austin a permit, allowing him to set up a town in Texas for free if he brought 300 families and cared for the land.
The Battle of the Alamo
More Americans come to colonize Texas without the acceptance of the government. The government included new laws such as converting to Roman Catholocism, no slavery, etc. None of the Americans followed these laws.
The Battle of San Jacinto
Mexico says the Texians need to start paying taxes and Americans want to break away and become independent from Mexico. They begin to revolt from Mexico and Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna sends troops to end the rebellion.
The Mexicans outnumbered the Americans 6,000 to 150 and decide to attack the Americans. The Americans took up defense at the Alamo. Every last one of them is killed, but not without killing four times the amount of them.
Sam Houston leads the Texian army to an easy victory over the Mexicans. Santa Anna is captured and signs a treaty he does not agree to, so he could escape. Texas and Mexico cannot agree on the border between Mexico and Texas.
