- Hector needs to stop yelled and hurting us
- Mima is always getting hurt by Hector, he used to be a sweet little brother
- Nora lives New York City when the serial killer, Son of Sam is born. She already has a hard life dealing with a brother who is addicted to drugs and smokes. He causes the house to be in shambles and since they don't have a high pay they can't afford to get a nicer apartment.
- Nora is supporting her family with her job as a cashier. Her mom and brother do not do work in leaving Nora with working 12 hour shifts at a deli. Her boss doesn't like her work and is very harsh on her.
- STOP STOP!!
- "I could kill you"
- She can't cry in the house because her brother, Hector is usually home. She wouldn't want to disturb him and possibly cause a fight and/or her getting hurt. Her best friend is always there to comfort her.
- "God, we're so lucky!"
- Her best friend Katie is always by her side and usually takes her in. They both broke his mirror (used for dugs) to try to stop him. His dealer, Sergio won't stop giving it to him even though he is only 15. Nora, who is still in high school has to deal with that on top of work.
- When Nora comes home Hector gets mad and hurts here for the first time in her life. Choking her, she can't breathe and ends up passing out. She only has 1 more week of high school until she graduates and moves out.
- Finally, Nora moves out not looking back at her family, or what's left of it. She hopes one day her mother will finally get out of that place and get the retirement she deserves. Her and her best friend finally find happiness.
