Demeter and Persephone is a story about a goddess whose daughter was taken from her and given back temporarily.
Persephone was wandering with two others when she found a flower for her mother, but was taken by Hades to the Underworld. Up in Mount Olympus, Demeter, Persephone's mother, found out that Zeus had made a deal with Hades. Demeter was furious, so Zeus sent Hermes to clean things up.
Alright, alright! Hermes, get her daughter!
Not from you in this awful world! Let me go!
Hades was in love with Persephone and kept offering food and gifts but Persephone refused knowing that eating would leave her stuck there.
