They are on their dead grandmother's plane with their uncle Alister. Dan had accidentally spilled poison on himself. The poison is burning his body, so Alister found the antidote shot for him. That was when they knew that their relatives were trying to kill them.
I found the next clue!!!
Trust no one.
The 39 Clues and the book Unwind are alike because the characters in Unwind have to be careful about who they meet. It could be a juvy cop trying to get them. The characters in The 39 Clues have to be careful about who they meet because others are trying to kill them.
Dan and Amy have the world against them. They have relatives all around the world that are trying to stop them from finding clues. Some are even trying to kill them. Every where they go they have to be under cover, so they don't get killed.
The mood of this story is scared and mysterious. Whenever Dan and Amy are in a stressful situation it makes you feel how they are feeling. They are always discovering new things, which makes everything stressful.
