After Hitler became the chancellor of Germany he placed many restrictions against Jewish people living in the country.
One of these restrictions was a curfew, which means that all Jewish people had to be home by a specific time of night.
On April 1, 1933 the Nazis boycotted Jewish-owned business by placing soldiers in front of the buildings and scaring off potential customers. Through 1933 - 1938 the Nazis continued to put pressure on jewish businesses. Many of these stores went out of business which caused many families to lose their livelihoods.
The most infamous of these rules was the Star of David badge. All Jews over the age of six had to wear a badge with the star of David on it to show that they are Jewish. The Nazis used the badges to segregate and control them.
Many Jews were deported to concentration camps and were forced to do labor for Germany. They were exterminated and used for Nazi medical experiments.
On the night of November 9, 1938 the Nazis would led a wave of anti-semitic violence known as 'the night of broken glass" for the shattered glass after the violence. Their plan was to make it look like an unexpected outburst of anger towards Jewish people.
