Storyboard Text

  • Hey Ally.  You just got of science class, right? What are we going to learn?
  • Hey Bella, you'll learn the difference between intrusive and extrusive igneous rocks. You'll work in partners or groups, and you will have to try to identify the rocks.
  • That sounds kind of fun, but what is are intrusive and extrusive rocks?
  • Intrusive rocks are formed when magma slowly cools and is underground.
  •  Extrusive rocks form by lava cooling quickly and is formed above ground.
  • Okay, I kind of get it now. Is there a way that I could somehow remember it?
  • Yeah, she told us that intrusive can be remembered as in for in the ground. Extrusive would be remembered as exit for leaving the ground.
  • Oh okay. Anyways that could help me identify them?
  • Yeah, if it is intrusive it would have large crystals, or they are big enough for you to see them with the naked eye. If it is extrusive then you need a tool to see them because they are too small to eye them without.
  • Okay, I understand what the differences are.  Thank you
  • Your welcome Bella, but I think you might need to get to science class.I also need to get to math.
  • Oh yeah!
  • Let's go. We're going to be late!
