My name is Charles I and I am the Monarch over three Kingdoms, England, Scotland and Ireland
I was one that lacked flexibility and imagination. the deceits that I practiced impugned my honor and damaged my credit. I excelled in language, Rhetoric and theology
I am a Roman Catholic man involved with the church and my families participation within the church
Charles I was monarch over the three kingdoms of England, Scotland and Ireland from March 27, 1625 till his execution in 1649.
I dismissed parliament three times in the first four years of my ruling. In 1629, I dismissed parliament all together. I was then forced to put parliament back into play after my unrest in Scotland.
Lacking Flexibility and Imagination, Charles was unable to to understand that those political deceits that he always practiced in increasingly vain attempts to uphold his authority which later impugned his honor and and damaged his credit.
I now know what I did, and this is the best punishment for my actions of dismissing parliament.
And now England will be forced to transfer the power given to the Monarchy by Charles to the Parliament
Charles was a serious minded student who excelled in language, rhetoric, and theology which later helped him in his catholic faith.
Charles dissolved parliament three times in the first four years of his rule. In 1629, he dismissed parliament altogether. Ruling alone meant raising funds by non-parliamentary means-angering the general public. Religious oppression drove puritans and Catholics to the North American Colonies.
As a result of Charles I actions, England was forced to transfer all the power given to the Monarchy by Charles to the Parliament. This caused England to become a more democratic nation. This ended complete monarchy in England but instead, they created a more Parliament government.
He was defeated at the battle of Preston in 1648 and was charged with high treason against England. Charles I was executed in 1649.
