The Great Lakes region is the most beautiful place in the world!
What do you mean?
Only Lake Michigan, Superior, and Huron look so nice. Lake Erie and Ontario look far worse.
Factories like these cause harmful pollution that harms our planet. And these factories create waste that is thrown in Lake Erie and Ontario. The automotive industry of the midwest destroyed the lake in the 60s and 70s.
Not all of the Great Lakes are taken care of, but by reaching out and campaigning, more money and resources can be allocated to saving the most beautiful place in the world.
The Great Lakes region of North America is one of the most beautiful and diverse ecosystems on Earth. Our planet is filled with many beautiful and eye-catching locations. Sadly, with all good things, eventually, they get taken advantage of. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, the consequences of the pollution effect every region on the planet. And unsurprisingly, the Great Lakes haven't been spared.
Not all the lakes are so well taken care of. Lake Ontario is the final stop for all water before it reaches the Atlantic and catches all the garbage as it floats downstream. And Lake Erie, after years of chemical poisoning by the automotive industry of the midwest, has earned the title of the most polluted Great Lake.
The most effective and long term strategy for dealing with pollution in the Great Lakes is political reform. More resources, money, and attention need to be given to make sure that in 100 years our children and our children's children can enjoy the Great Lakes for years to come.
