Herod Hall in the land of the Danes has been attacked at night consecutively by Grendel, the monster of the Danes who eats people. Consequently, it has been empty for 12 years.
Grendel has returned! He is killing everyone!
Grendel keeps killing people! We must leave this place! We need a savior!
After 12 years since Grendel's last attack, Prince Beowulf and 14 soldiers from the land of the Geats sail over the seas to the land of the Danes. They offer help to Hrothgar, king of the Danes, by volunteering to kill Grendel.
Hail Hrothgar! I come here with my men to help and save this land from Grendel. I come here to get your permission to end with the evil in this land. Let me and my men end all the evil in this hall.
Beowulf, you have come to us in friendship. I know who you are, I remember your amazing father Edgherto. Now I give you my permission to fight for this land.
Beowulf and his men are at Herod Hall ready to fight Grendel. Even though they fight him without weapons, Beowulf is able to cut Grendel's arm and scare him away. Then, Grendel goes back fatally wounded to his home to die.
We will keep fighting until we kill this monster. We can do this!
Grendel's mother seeks revenge for her son's death and wants to kill Beowulf. Moreover, Hrothgar sends Beowulf and his soldiers to fight her. It is a very tough battle in her lair since she can't be killed with weapons. Beowulf kills her and cuts out her head thanks to the magic sword of the Giants. Then, he cuts Grendel's head and when he returns to his soldiers they had already left because they thought he died.
You! You are the one responsible for my son's death! The only thing you deserve is to die!
I will not let down the people of this land. I will keep fighting you until I kill you. I will end with the evil in this land once and for all!
After Grendel's and his mother's death. Beowulf returns to the land of the Geats and years later becomes king. Then, 50 years later, a dragon starts terrorizing the Geats and Beowulf decides to fight it even though he is old and as he is confident that he will kill it. He goes with his soldiers to the cave but as they see that Beowulf is already weak, they leave. Unfortunately, the dragon wins this battle as it bites Beowulf and kills him. Then, Wiglaf goes back into the cave and kills the dragon.
I know this will be my last battle. I do my best to protect my people, but my time has come and this dragon has won. Now i leave my heart on my land, the land of the Geats.
I rather burn than see flames around you, my lord. You always trust us as your soldiers and protect us and this and. I will not let you down now. I will kill this dragon in your behalf.
After Boewulf's battle with the dragon he dies. Beowulf had asked his men to cremate him and bury his ashes under a cairn. They build a cairn along the shores for it to serve as a monument in remembrance of Beowulf. Wiglaf and some wariqos build a funeral pyre. After it is burned to ashes, they build the barrow tall enough for other sailor to see it and they bury some precious ornaments in the dragon's lair. Then, 12 warriors rode around the monument to mourn him and everyone in the land of the Geats remember and honor Beowulf
Beowulf, my lord, you will always be in our hearts. I promise to be like you for my people.
