Storyboard Text

  • During summer holiday, Edna, Leonce, and their children vacationed in the Grand Isle.
  • I don't want to be here with Leonce, I'm so unhapppy...
  • I'm so happy when I'm with you.
  • Due to Leonce's massive work occupation, Edna would spend most of her days talking with her friend, Adèle Ratignolle, and walking in the beach with Robert, her forbidden love.
  • I will do whatever I desire and what makes me happy!
  • Edna returns to New Orleans; she feels like a changed  woman. Edna proceeded with her favorite passions, such as painting.
  • I miss Robert so much...
  • Edna feels independent and proud in her new home. She also has an affair with Alcée Arobin, a town seducer, to satisfy her sexual needs.
  • I still miss and love Robert, but you'll do for now.
  • Robert goes to New Orleans to tell Edna how much he still loves her, even though they are incapable of being together. Edna explains to him her new lifestyle and convinces him to stay with her.
  • Stay with me, I love you! We can work this out!
  • I can't take this pain anymore and live this lifestyle! I'm done!
  • When Robert leaves Edna once again, she feels alone and extremely unhappy. Therefore, she decided to go back to the Grand Isle, where her awakening began. She swam through the calm water and thought about every impactful person in her life, as she swam away...
