Storyboard Text

  • Oedipus is consulting Jocasta about his search for the truth about the killer of Laius.
  • "Jocasta, do you remember the man we sent for just now?"
  • "Is that the man he is talking about?" (60)
  • "Don't even think about what he said-it makes no sense." (60)
  • "Why ask who he means? Don't pay any attention to him."
  • "What? With a clue like this? Give up the search?"
  • "Fail to solve the mystery of my birth? NEVER!" (60)
  • Jocasta tries her hardest to convince Oedipus to not go on the search
  • "In God's name, if you place any value on your life, don't pursue the search."
  • "It is enough that I am sick to death!" (60)
  • "Even if it it against my better judgement, I do value your words."
  • "So I shall do as you say, and trust you, I will call the search off."
  • And so, the murderer of Laius was never found. The plague continued to rampage through all of Thebes, until the end of all Thebians.
