  • The March on Versailles
  • On October 5, 1789, around 6,000 women marched 13 miles from Paris to Versailles in hope of drawing attention to their poor living conditions. 
  • BREAD!!!
  • WE WANT TO SEE THE KING!
  • Tennis Court Oath
  • On June 1789, delegates of the Third Estate declared themselves the National Assembly and moved to an indoor tennis court for a meeting.
  • Swear, "never to seperate and to meet wherever the circumstances might require until we have established a sound and just constitution."
  • The Reign of Terror
  •  From September 1793 to July 1794, people in France were arrested for not supporting the revolution and many were executed.
  • "Death to the traitors!"
  • WE WANT OUR RIGHTS!
  • We issue this as the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen.
  • All men are "born and remain free and equal in rights."
  • National Assembly
  • Peasant revolts and the Storming of the Bastille were the cause for the National Assembly to rush and take action.
  • We must take a vote!
  • Those in favor of ending our own privilages?
  • The Storming of the Bastille
  • WE WANT WEAPONS AND GUNPOWDER!
  • Opening event of the French Revolution
  • The ideals of the Enlightenment inspired the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen.
