Mestizos - One spanish parent and one native parent. Mexico's independence movement was led by Father Miguel Hidalgo. They were defeated in 1811, four years later tried again, but failed
Slaves/Natives - Majority of slaves were Haitians. In 1971 10,000 slaves revolted, Toussaint L'Ouverture was the leader of the Haitian Revolution. 1801 L'Ouverture freed all of the slaves and inspired other Latin American colonies to revolt and declare independence.
Mulattos - One spanish parents and one African/slave parent
