- The Hagia Sophia is one of the most important and impressive architectural buildings in the Byzantine empire. Roman style architecture usually consists of large domes and arch's, which can be seen in the Hagia Sophia building, as it has four large arches and a dome that is over 100ft tall. The Hagia Sophia also once held the record for the largest dome until the 15th century.
- Justinian is considered the most famous Byzantine emperor, although he wasn't really favored among his people, he was still impactful. He was the one who ordered the original construction of the Hagia Sophia., to show the importance of church. he began reconquering roman territories, he even came up with a law code that was the basis for laws for the next 500 years. He built hospitals, schools, and aqueducts.
- Although Theodora was a former prostitute she married Justinian and ruled by his side as co-emeress. Theodora proved to be intelligent and had much influence in the Byzantine Empire. Theodora did things such as writing and meeting with foreign leaders, advised Justinian and helped him pass laws, and encouraged the building of Christian cathedrals. Theodora was also very head strong, in fact, she was the one who convinced Justinian to stay and fight after a series of riots took place.
