Storyboard Text

  • Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, discovered about the existence of a princess who's beauty challenged her own. For this, she sent her son, Eros, to make her fall in love with a common and ugly man
  • When he arrived at the location, he got surprised by her beauty, and accidentally cut himself and her with the love arrow. Now, being in love with the princess, Eros visited her every night, when he could hide his face
  • Full of curiosity, Psique, the princess, one day lighted a candle to see her lover's face. But with this, Eros fled, thinking that no love will persist without trust
  • Aphrodite figured out what was happening, and then, furious, sent Psique into cruel missions, one at which she should transport a jar from hell without seeing what was inside of it
  • Psique, again didn't follow the command, and opened the jar, releasing all the evil inside it, and leaving her in a eternal sleep
  • Eros found Psique, and with a touch of his arrow, brought her back to life. This was the scene famously portaited at Canova's sculpture. After this, Eros brought Psique to Olympus where she became a immortal and lived with Eros for the rest of eternity
