The three witches meet Macbeth and Banquo, and tell Macbeth that he will be Thane of Cawdor, then King. They tell Banquo his descendants will be kings.
King Duncan makes Macbeth Than of Cawdor and tells Lady Macbeth about the prophecy. She plans to persuade him to murder Duncan. Macbeth is reluctant, but Lady Macbeth convinces him they can frame Duncans servants for the murder
Macbeth murders Duncan and Lady Macbeth plants blood stained daggers on Duncans servants. Macduff arrives and discovers the Kings body.
The kings sons, Malcom and Donalbain leave Scotland because they fear for their lives- making them guilty for the murder. Rosse and an old man discuss the strange things happening since the Kings murder.
Macbeth is crowned, but is worried about the Witches prophecy and about Banquos descendants being Kings. He orders some murderers to kill banquo and his son Fleance. They kill Banquo but Fleance escapes. Macbeth hosts a feast and sees Banquos ghost.
Macbeth visits the witches again and they summon three apparitions. Each one makes a prophecy. The first warns Macbeth about Macduff, the second tells him no one born from a woman can harm him and the third tells him that he cant be beaten until Birnam Wood moves to Dunsinane Hill. Macbeth demands to know if Banquos children will ever rule Scotland and the witches show him Banquos ghost and line of kings who are Banquos descendants
