In an environment of a forest there are two types of animals. There are dark colored rabbits and light colored rabbits who need to survive in this environment.
Population of rabbits with a mix of different variation of animal traits. Some are dark colored and are hard to see while the others are light colored and easy to see.
The rabbits that are more light colored fur won't be able to survive from predators. Whereas the rabbits that are dark colored are able to camouflage with the environment.
As the only rabbits to survive, the dark brown rabbits will be able to survive and reproduce to make offspring. As for the light brown rabbits, it won't always be able to survive from predators.
Over time the population's gene pool will end up being all dark and there will be little light brown rabbits in this environment.
Eventually, all the rabbits in the environment will be dark brown colored than light colored rabbits.
