Unit 3: Nutrition Project (Part 2)

Storyboard Text

  • First of all, Amanda, do you know what nutrition is?
  • Good afternoon, Amanda. My name is Dr. Wang.
  • Nice to meet you, Doctor!
  • I don't think so. I've heard people talk about it, though.
  • Nutrition is the study of nutrients and how the body uses them. Good nutrition means eating a variety of healthy foods and knowing what diseases could be caused by your diet.
  • Does everybody need to eat the same foods to be healthy?
  • Not at all! Dietary needs vary based on age, gender, general health, and activity level.
  • So I have different needs than my dad who runs marathons?
  • Exactly!
  • I have another question. What's the difference between my appetite and my hunger?
  • Great question! Appetite is the brain's desire for food. It can be connected to memories and feelings.
  • Hunger is the body's need for food. You will feel weak and tired if you don't eat soon.
  • Thanks, Doctor! You've been so helpful today!
  • My pleasure. Have a great day.
  • Now I can fix my diet and feel better again!
  • You as well!
