The King of France controlled the Fur Trade and with those profits he benefited the colonies.
Jean-Baptiste Colbert lead a conflict between the Wendat so they can trade with them.
The French began to rely on the Wendat to bring their furs to Montreal from many other First Nations.
The trade furs for metal knives, axe heads, pots, needles, muskets, cloth, and glass beads.
