Storyboard Text

  • Geography of Ancient Greece
  • Greece is a peninsula that is surrounded by the Mediterranean sea. We would travel in boats because the land had harsh mountains.
  • Most people made livings by farming, but with the mountains it was difficult. The lack of farm land caused wars between settlements.
  • As Greek communities grew farmland started to decrease. So Greeks made new colonies in different places. Colonies allowed Greek culture to spread.
  • Merchant ships transported goods such as timber, pottery, olive oil, grain, and metals to be traded. Greek colonies traded all throughout the Mediterranean.
  • Hope you had fun traveling through ancient Greece. See you next time!
