In chapter 9, scout starts to hear hear people at school talk about the case and Atticus's decision to represent a black man. This all happens while Scout is at school.
Scout decides to fight Cecil because she wants to stick up for Atticus, even though he doesn't need to be stuck up for. This gets scout in a sticky situation with trying to please her pride, or pleasing Atticus
Francis, Scout, and Jem's cousin comes and they begin to become very curious with the thought of Boo. Francis and Scout get in a bit of an altercation when Francis starts to question Atticus
Francis and Scout's cousin makes scout snap. He was saying very rude, disrespectful, awful things about Atticus and how the case is with him. Scout let him have it and punched him down.
After the holiday passed Atticus, Scout, and Uncle Jack went home.
Scout told Uncle Jack the truth of what Francis said to Atticus, and that she was only trying protect him
