  • Your son will either be a king or a religious leader
  • I want Siddhartha to be a king not a religious leader.

  • Born a prince in Nepal in 563 B.C Named Siddhartha Gautama. Siddhartha's father meets with a fortune teller and says that  Siddhartha will be a king or a religious leader. Of course Siddhartha's father wants him to be a king
  • Born living a life of luxury without experiencing pain or sadness. As Siddhartha grew up his dad made sure he never saw anything unpleasant, he never saw anyone who was sick, sad, or poor. Young Siddhartha seemed to have about everything
  • One day when Siddhartha was 29 years old he road out of the palace without any guards and saw the horrors  of real life. Siddhartha has seen the four passing sights which were a man leaning over on a stick, A man shrunken by sickness, and a man who died with his family weeping around him. A couple days later he saw a man who was homeless and possessed  nothing was content. After that day Siddhartha knew he wanted to be like that man
  • I have come to tell you how to become enlighten.
  • Siddhartha now had no protection and only got food from people who put it in his begging bowl. He learned that life is an endless cycle of death and rebirth and salvation was that way out, this upset him. Siddhartha decided to join a band of Ascetics being one of the took such a tool on his body he fainted. Then his band of Ascetics left him because he accepted a bowl of rice and a glass of milk. ( He fainted because he only ate a grain of rice and one jujube fruit a day.
  • After Siddhartha's strength returned, he continued his search. One day he sat under a fig tree and said, " I will not leave this tree until truth has been realized." He sat under that tree for 49 days.
  • He was visited by Mara and Mara offered Siddhartha wealth and anything desirable, when that failed, Mara attacked Siddhartha with rains and showers of rocks. Siddhartha then went deeper into meditation and saw his past lives, He then understood the cycle of rebirth and reached Enlightenment. After that Siddhartha went on to Enlighten the world
