One day, Jesus was teaching people about God's word. Simon, a Pharisee, saw this and invited Jesus to dinner. Jesus kindly accepted.
At Simon's house with a few other Pharisees, a sinful woman cam in, and cried at Jesus' feet. The tears spilled onto His feet, and the woman quickly dried them with her hair. Then she poured very expensive perfume over his feet. The perfume smelled very fragerant and everyone could smell it.
Simon was not pleased of the 'waste' of perfume. Jesus told him, "A bank owner gave a loan to two men, one of 500 denarii, the other 50." when it was time for the loan to be repaid, they both came back and said they could not repay him. The bank owner said they did not have to repay him, he forgave them. Which of these men loved him more?" Jesus asked. "The one who owed more money to him." Simon replied, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
