  • Bow to me! I am Edward III, King of England and nephew of the late French King. I am your new King of France!
  • We will not bow to you! You are no king of ours!
  • Battle of Agincourt.
  • Yes! The longbows have brought us this great victory at Agincourt! October 25, 1415 is a date to remember!
  • No! The English have beat us!
  • A 17-year old peasant named Joan of Arc meets with Charles VII. France, 1429
  • I am desperate enough to give you a chance.
  • God has sent me to lead the French to victory!
  • Siege of Orleans, 1429.
  • The English stand down after Joan of Arc and the French army show up
  • God wishes for Charles VII to be king. You must back down. You cannot stand against God.
  • We will stand down.
  • Battle of Castillon, 1453.
  • The French defeat the English with cannons. This signified the end of the Hundred Years war. The French won back almost all of their landholdings.
  • Along with the end of Feudalism, this also brought new military technology. Parliament rose in England and won the right to control taxation and funding for wars. This was known as the "power of the purse."
  • I am no longer loyal to you, Lord. I am only loyal to the King.
