  • After the Marquette-Juliet expedition the french and Canadians recognized the value of the Mississippi river that stretched from Alleghenies in the east to the Rockies in the west and the Arkansans river in the south.
  • with the Mississippi spreading across america it helped lead towards the colonization of Louisiana and other areas and after colonization it works as a major trade and travel route for resources and people.
  • There were many things to trade however the most valued was fur trade. fur traders often ignored missionary's authority witch stopped them from getting fur and selling it for money this trading would eventually bring french and Canadian men and women
