Power to a Power math project

- Okay another day teaching these kids about math even though they don't listen
- Alright class today we are going to be talking about... Hey Chris and Kylan, stop talking

- Alright today we are going to talk about the power to a power rule
- I mean in math
- Sorry class but that's not what I meant
- Awww Man
- Okay but what if one of the exponents is negative
- Okay so you use the power to a power law when you are using an exponent to another exponent
- This means that you have to multiply the two exponents
- A problem like that would have the power (3 to the power of 3) in parenthesis and outside the parenthesis would be the other exponent (which is 2 in this example
- For example, if you have 3 to the power of 3 times and exponent of 2, then you would multiply the two exponents (which are 3 and 2) and you would get six so your answer would be 3 to the power of 6
- So with negatives, you just have to remember your multiplication with negatives rules. When you multiply a positive by a negative, you get a negative. Its the same with exponents. When you multiply a positive exponent by a negative exponent, you get a negative exponent
- That was actually what I was going to talk about next
- It is the same thing with two negative exponents except your result would be a positive exponent
- For example, if you have 4 to the 2 power times an exponent of -3, you would multiply the two exponents and get -6 so your answer would be 4 to the power of -6
